The digital workspace is one of the DX trends currently driving UC. In a digital workspace, work becomes less of a specific location, and more of a shared selection of goals and projects that can be carried out using specific tools and technologies.

The digital workspace supports remote working, by allowing employees to access the same tools over the cloud, on any device or system. The digital workspace allows today’s staff to personalize their work experiences, while UC unifies people across a range of backgrounds and environments, to help them collaborate on the same projects.

Unified Communications (UC) offers a competitive advantage to businesses by reducing the number of independent tools, platforms, and solutions they need to communicate. UC refers to a phone system that integrates (or “unifies”) multiple communication methods within a business. Your business probably communicates in several ways: phone calls, video conferencing, instant messaging, email, SMS, fax – the list goes on and on. A UC solution brings together all the ways your business communicates and lets them “talk” to each other so they can work together in one system – making your business much more efficient.

Just as video conferencing enables the sharing of the video in real-time, and audio conferencing does the same with voice, web conferencing allows for the instantaneous sharing of web-based content. Web conferencing may include sharing computer screens, individual applications, or content among multiple computers or mobile devices. A web conferencing platform may be based on the cloud and delivered as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model. Alternatively, your web conferencing services could run in your own private data center or server room.

Web Real-Time Communication or WebRTC is another term frequently used in discussions about UC&C. Web Real-Time Communication is a free and open-source solution designed to provide mobile applications and web browsers with real-time communication solutions using simple APIs or “application programming interfaces.”

For companies that want to access UC&C without downloading any additional software or tools, WebRTC allows video and audio communication to work within a web page, through peer-to-peer communication. WebRTC eliminates the need for plugins and native apps.

The most important components are arguably audio and visual, which are made up of four essential parts. Audio is most important, made up of microphones and speakers. The camera and display make up the ‘other half’. Being heard and seen are the very reason you are connecting, and the audio clarity is at the top of the list.

The technology and AI that is built into the camera makes all the difference in the meeting as these can now automatically change the lighting on faces to balance or lighten a dark image, make the image ‘real’, with proper color, focus on multiple faces so everyone in the room is ‘focused and in view’.

Mics play a vital role in the overall sound quality. They can filter out unwanted background noises, give a crystal clear sound that has the attendees feel like they are all in the same room. This is a major effect most clients appreciate and value as it brings the whole experience ‘together’.

Essentially there are two options. Single display and dual display. The first and most popular is a flat LCD screen – which can be from a 50″ to 69″ display unit. These are fixed and once set up remain ‘static’ as a video conferencing room fixture. The digital projector however offers portability, versatility, and scalability. The screen size can change, so a medium-sized room can scale up or down in attendees, and so the screen size can cater accordingly.

All our suppliers offer a Standard Limited Warranty with Terms and Conditions attached. Typically, these range from 12 to 36 months. Ask us about the respective periods and conditions. And no, there is no reason to have any concerns, as we only deal with world-leading brands and they all stand by their warranties and support.

The short answer is no. With development moving at such a pace, and the demand being so high for AV and VC solutions, your choice of hardware must be compatible with your software as it is most likely that you will evolve or expand your system. Some suppliers form alliances with the software developers, such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams, and working closely together, they ensure that systems talk.

The costs are all relative to what you are getting. Nowadays, with so much happening, development has had to move ahead at an unprecedented rate, and the demand for high-quality equipment has never been higher either. When you invest in an AV or VC system, it is the technology, AI, and scalability (so you can add to the system in the future) that matters most.

By design, systems are scalable. It is good practice to know this upfront so that the correct system is designed, and if scaled, to know where and how. So your starting system does require some thought if you plan to scale later.

With a video soundbar, you can transform any screen or projector into a full-fledged video conferencing system. Inside the soundbar system, multiple speakers reproduce HD “ultra-wideband” audio so you can hear the other parties in stunning clarity.
